One advantage that the tribal casino holds is that it will be able to offer college sports betting in Oregon. The Lottery will only provide betting lines for professional sports when it launches. That date seems to be slightly postponed as a source told the Oregonian.

“Once we are satisfied with everything, we’ll move it into a production environment. Then we do one more round of security testing to ensure everything performs the same in the live environment as it did in testing. The testing will drive our launch date, as opposed to cutting corners to hit the first kickoff,” said the source.

The sportsbook at Chinook Winds Casino will open in time before the start of the 2019 NFL season and in time before the Oregon Ducks season opener against the Auburn Tigers. Both options will require bettors to be 21 years old in order to legally place a sports bet.
